The Sitting Room: This room, originally described in the plans as“the Smoking Room” has stunning views the South and to the West. There are comfortable sofas and chairs, and a wood-burning stove. It also has a large shelf of books of all descriptions which we urge visitors to enjoy but not take out of the house!  On the wall is a portrait of Charlie Murray together with the original designs for the house.

The Long Room: Often used by the more energetic members of the group, this beautiful room, with pine flooring, has a wood-burning stove and lots of comfortable chairs.  There is a large TV screen with a small selection of DVDs to borrow. There are children’s toys to explore and lots of classic games and puzzles. There is space to pull back the rugs and dance! There is a small folding pool table and a full sized table-tennis table. There is a door out to the garden where there are seats (made from the wood of an old warship) to enjoy the view to Skye, to spot the bird life, to paint, to read or to simply relax and have a drink.

The Dining Room: this more formal room seats 16 with ease but can easily add more chairs to accommodate more. The long table is perfect for celebratory occasions or just hearty meals exchanging news after the long day. When the house was built it had its own hydro-electric power supply. The workings of the control panel have been saved and are mounted on a wall in the dining room.

Leading to the back of the house from the dining room is the wonderful Butler’s Pantry, with the original cupboards still in use for storing all the cutlery and crockery. There is a large butler’s sink and 2 dishwashers, which makes clearing up from the dining room easy. There is also a small drinks fridge for storing drinks for the dining room.

The Kitchen: Recently re-furbished, the kitchen is a large breakfast room/kitchen which enjoys the warmth of the 4 oven aga as well as being light and airy.  The table sits 8. The kitchen is well stocked for catering for large numbers.
